Hi there.

My name is Rachel (Rae), and my pronouns are she/her or they/them. I grew up in Oakland, California, which sits on the territory of Huchiun and is part of the unceded land of the Lisjan Ohlone people. I am so happy that you landed on my page!

You probably heard about me from community or a loved one and would like help in addressing pain and discomfort, trauma that you endured, “getting that knot,” or simply resting and restoring from daily stressors and tension. In any case, I feel honored to be here with you to help aid in your self care and your own personal healing journey and discovery.

My relationship with health and healing began with observing and tending to my own family's chronic health conditions which led me to learn more about ways to ease suffering and move towards more awareness and balance between our physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental selves.

I completed my 600-hour certificate from the San Francisco School of Massage and Bodywork in 2015, where I learned and acquired skills in deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, trigger point therapy, neuromuscular techniques, and myofascial release. My style integrates and combines Eastern and Western modalities from a trauma-informed approach and aims to tailor to your own individual needs.

As a lifelong learner, I am a big believer in taking continuing education courses to further grow my skills. I have additional training in fire cupping, acupressure, stretching and mobilization, and Reiki. Over the years, I have served local and social community organizations as a bodyworker in events such as Freedom Community Clinc, Holistic Underground, The Teaching Well, Gabriela Oakland, AAPI Women Lead, and more.

In addition to my bodywork training and experience, I have a background in public health education and promotion, and worked in health care navigation at the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Health.

I believe that trauma is stored in the body and our bodies tell stories of our lived experience. I would like you to know that it’s okay to slow down and receive, and that you deserve care and support without judgement. You are worthy of well-being and reconnection.
